Public Act 99-590, signed into law July 22, 2016, requires every school district to report information for each of its schools regarding the administration of assessments to students to the Illinois State Board of Education (“ISBE”) before the 30th day of the school year. ISBE is then required to compile the information reported pursuant to this law and make it available to the public. Each school district is also required to make the compilation available to the parents and guardians of its students by posting it to their school district’s website or distributing paper copies. The reporting requirements begin this school year. The data must be reported by October 18, 2016.

In a weekly message sent by the Superintendent of ISBE on October 4, 2016, Superintendent Smith reminded school districts of the new reporting requirements. He notified the email’s recipients that ISBE is creating a survey for school districts to use to submit the required information. Superintendent Smith anticipates that ISBE will send the survey to school districts later this week, in advance of the October 18 deadline.

Please watch for the survey from ISBE and be sure to submit the assessment information for each of the schools in your district by the October 18 deadline.
